Your next priority as a part of moving to New Zealand will probably be finding a place to live. The main cities in New Zealand are Auckland (the largest city), Wellington (the capital) and Christchurch. There are also plenty of beautiful rural and small town spots to live and work when you immigrate.
Auckland
Auckland's waterside location has fostered the locals' love affair with the sea, earning this place the nickname "City of Sails". Auckland sprawls over a narrow isthmus between the sparkling waters of the Waitemata and Manukau Harbours. A cloak of rainforest covers the surrounding hills, dozens of dormant volcanic cones dot the landscape and enchanting holiday islands are scattered throughout the vast Hauraki Gulf.
Auckland's heart beats to a Polynesian rhythm, its people a melting pot of European, South Pacific and Asian cultures and a strong indigenous Maori heritage. This diversity brings with it an abundance of unique dining and shopping experiences. Auckland's temperate climate, easy access to the coast and variety of activities earn the city consistent top five rankings in international lifestyle surveys.
Wellington
Wellington is a beautiful harbour city centred on a vibrant business district and surrounded by the hills of Wellington's Town Belt. From the city centre it is only a quick drive to mountains, open countryside and rugged coastlines.
Christchurch
The second largest city in New Zealand, Chirstchurch is the international gateway to the South Island of New Zealand. There is a thriving business centre, some of the best air and sea links for international trade, world class leisure and sporting facilities, a lively arts and entertainment scene, boutique shopping and easy access to beaches and mountains.
