The following gives you an indication of the experience in demand and key requirements.
MRI radiographers:
- HPC registration (Health Professions Council).
- Degree in radiography.
- 2 years experience in MRI preferably in New Zealand or Australia, but don’t have to be citizens of the country.
- Continued professional registration.
- Shown on your CV:
- Scanners that you have scanned on.
- Body parts that you are able to scan.
Ultrasonographers:
- HPC registration (Health Professions Council).
- Degree in radiography.
- Post graduate certificate in ultrasound.
- 2 years experience in MRI preferably in New Zealand or Australia, but don’t have to be citizens of the country.
- Continued professional registration.
Mammographers:
- HPC registration (Health Professions Council).
- Degree in radiography.
- Post graduate certificate in mammography.
- 2 years experience preferably in New Zealand or Australia, but don’t have to be citizens of the country.
- Continued professional registration.
Cardiac Physiologists:
- Non invasive.
- Cath lab.
- Electro physiology.
- Pacemaker implants and follow up.
- Complex device implant and follow up.
- Echocardiography
The UK needs Cardiac Physiologists that have at least one other area of experience in addition to non invasive experience.
Nurses:
- NMC registration (Nursing and Midwifery Council)
- 2 years experience preferably in New Zealand or Australia, but don’t have to be citizens of the country.
- Continued professional registration.
- Theatre nurses.
- Critical care.
- Cardiac.
- ITU.
- General medical and surgical.
- Community.
To get NMC registration, all nurses will need to have an IELTs exam and then have to do the ONP program (Overseas Nurses Program) when they arrive in the UK to get full registration.
